Windows from the windows give the picture lines & attract the eye to the building & make the man in the lower right inferior. The man seems like he has a lot of work to do by windows that are broken & the glass that lay on the floor giving the rules of thirds by his position. He (the subject) also stands out from everything else showing the photographer was avoiding mergers. All of this would cath peoples attention likeit did mine. 
The stills that support the house guide the eye to the house which is all alone around destruction. The house stands out by its uniques color & therefor avoids mergers.
